The shapely and easy-to-clean plastic case is reinforced by a strong metal chassis from the inside. With a front glass made of shatterproof security glass which is flush mounted into the front of the case, the PID is fit to face the strain of public use.
Mounting is easily done by sliding it onto the wall plate, which is supplied with the PID. All electrical connections are then made automatically. There is a lock at the bottom which holds the PID in its position and makes it thief-proof.
Ventilation is possilge through air slots on the side. The iside metal chassis allows sufficient space to protect the inside against liquids.
The PID gets its power either by a built-in 230V power supply or, as a special public transport version, by the vehicle battery, i.e. 24V wide range input.
The built-in PC is powerful enough to guarantee a fluent depiction of videos and camera pictures. A VIA Eden processor and the CX700M multi media chipset are the energy efficient backbone of the system. There is a LAN connection for data exchange, as well as a connection for a 2,5'' hard disk or a shock-proof CF card as bulk memory storage.
A super energy efficient PC version with an ARM RISC processor will be available soon. |
