Atex certified: NTM-15,6

With the project NTM-15,6 MOStron (and a customer) have set themselves the goal to develop a new type of monitor, which fulfills the requirements for ATEX and IECEx in Zone 1 for hazardous environments and, at the same time, offers a sleek and modern design.

The combination of an elegant display module with an x protection for Zone 1 presented our R&D engineers with major challenges.

After two years of intensive development the patented touch monitor was finally completed. It consists of a full-HD display in 16:9 aspect. Especially innovative is the installation of a rear connection box. On one hand this enables a bonding (or encapsulating) process, which is necessary for the certification, on the other hand it offers a safe encapsulated connection of the cable. A capacitive touch panel guarantees a simple operation. The front glass pane with a custom designed print is connected to the touch panel and the display using optical bonding.

The operation and power supply of the NTM is made via a network cable. Another special feature is the special data transmission which allows distances of up to 100 m.

The main computer, which processes the data for the monitor, c.q. processes the data received, can be installed far away in a safe environment
(non ex zone 1). A matching transmitter box for data transfer to the monitor was also newly developed and can also be supplied, if required.

With the development of this operation unit MOStron has set new standards, which is why the decision was made to patent it.
